The Information Services Department plays integral part in Bureau’s operations, and includes assisting with the organization and execution of training workshops, seminars and activities pertaining to the work of the Bureau and its standards development partners such as CROSQ, ISO and Codex Alimentarius.

The Information Service Department can be considered to be the PRO for the Bureau, publicizing the work of the Bureau and engaging the general public, technical experts and interested stakeholders in the work of the Bureau.

Below is a list of some of the other tasks involving the Information Services Department:

  • Liaises with international and regional organisations.
  • Hosts the National Codex Contact Point (CCP) – manages a collection of Codex Standards and other FAO and WHO publications; Manages Codex activities and disseminates codex information at the national level.
  • Hosts the National Enquiry Point (NEP) for the WTO TBT Agreement.
